I’m very happy to report the latest benchmark crossed – over 200 pages of pure interview content. That is around 10 pages for every interview guest, and there are still a few more guests that I want to get involved.
One of the most important aspects of this book in my mind was getting passed the ‘boilerplate’ points you see on an average interview. With Q&A’s on most websites and TV shows they hit a few bullet points, grab an interesting/funny anecdote, then move on. I wanted to explore a little deeper the relationship these senior martial artists have had with karate as they’ve grown and developed. I wanted to give them a chance to talk about their teachers, their training experiences, themselves, and their philosophies. As a result, I think the content is turning out to be valuable and something that will help future generations.
