When first starting this project I set 20 participants as my benchmark. I figured that if I could collect 20 important stories it would provide a wide enough range of experience to tell an important story regarding the birth of karate in America. I’m extremely happy to say that we have reached that benchmark.
Here’s the best part – I’m not through yet! I think there are more stories out there to be had that will make the project even better. I see no reason to quit, although I do believe we are entering the final stages of interview collection. Before long I’ll be putting all the pieces together and writing the additional needed sections of the book.
I’m very grateful to the current participants and excited to see who else I might be able to add as we move forward.
